The best sim racing overlays for streaming in 2026

SimHub, RaceLab, iOverlay, DashPanel, iRacing Live Streamer, Horizon Labs and input displays compared for streaming: price, games, editor, OBS support.

Disclosure: Horizon Labs is made by the author of this site. It is judged below by the same criteria as every other tool, and each profile cites the product’s own page.

For a sim racing stream, the overlay that works is the one your viewers can actually see in OBS. Of the tools checked, RaceLab and iRacing Live Streamer state browser-source support on their own pages, and Horizon Labs provides a browser source for OBS, Streamlabs, Meld Studio and TikTok LIVE Studio. iOverlay lists streamer features such as a garage cover and Twitch chat, SimHub’s forum points to screen capture or a browser link, and DashPanel’s page does not describe stream use. That one question, “how does this get into my scene?”, sorts the field faster than a feature list.

The short version

How the tools were judged

The criteria match the comparison pages: price, games, overlay, editor, streaming and platform. Facts come from each product’s own page and were checked on 2 November 2026. “Not stated” means the pages checked did not say, which is different from “not possible”. Nothing was benchmarked, so there are no claims about frame rate or CPU use.

Two broad ways exist to get an overlay on stream. A browser source loads the overlay as a web page in OBS, so your viewers see it with a transparent background. A window or game capture grabs an overlay app’s own window, which usually means a chroma key or careful capture settings. The OBS telemetry overlay guide walks through the browser source route.

Horizon Labs

Horizon Labs is a Windows 10 and 11 app that draws a live telemetry HUD over racing games. It is sold on Gumroad as pay what you want from €4.99, one-time, with lifetime updates. It is the author’s own product, so weigh it against the others’ pages.

What it does not do: it is a telemetry HUD, not a race-data suite. It does not provide the standings, relative and series tools that the iRacing-focused apps below are built around. See the overlay page.

SimHub

SimHub is a large sim-racing hub: dashboards and overlays, hardware such as bass shakers and LEDs, and motion. Its supported games page lists iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, Assetto Corsa Competizione (PC only) and the Codemasters F1 series through F1 25, among many more. The homepage says “100+” games.

If a SimHub overlay does not appear in your scene, see SimHub overlay not showing in OBS, and Horizon Labs vs SimHub for the full comparison.

RaceLab

RaceLab is an overlay suite for competitive sims, with 33 overlays across eight games: iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, the F1 games and RaceRoom.

It is the closest fit when your stream is competitive iRacing or LMU racing. See Horizon Labs vs RaceLab. For ACC streams, the ACC overlay in OBS guide covers a different route.

iOverlay

iOverlay is an iRacing companion app with in-game overlays and some streamer tools.

The garage cover hides your setup on stream, which is a practical streaming feature. See Horizon Labs vs iOverlay.

iRacing Live Streamer

iRacing Live Streamer, from a UK developer, shows a live overlay fed by iRacing Live Timing in your streaming software. Viewers see it; you do not see it while driving.

It is iRacing only. Choose it if your priority is a broadcast-style overlay for a race you commentate or share, not an in-cockpit HUD.

DashPanel

DashPanel shows dashboards on screens, phones, VR and USB displays. The base app is free and shows RPM, speed and gear; full data is a per-game purchase, €4.99 for most games, with a PRO bundle at €25.39.

It is a good pick for a dash on a phone, tablet or USB wheel screen. See Horizon Labs vs DashPanel.

Input displays: Wheeler, SteerOverlay and Racing Overlay

Viewers like seeing hands and feet. Three small tools do only that, and none reads car telemetry the way the apps above do.

Choosing by game

The game you stream narrows the field more than any feature list.

What viewers actually need to see

A stream overlay is not a cockpit HUD. You glance at your HUD for a split second; viewers can read an overlay for a whole lap, so layout matters more than density.

Left out, and why

Some names come up in streaming threads but have no page that could be checked for this article. Sim Racing Studio’s homepage describes shakers, motion and telemetry for 140+ games, but the page checked did not mention stream overlays. Kapps, an iRacing suite by the streamer kutu182, was described in forum posts, but no official page could be found. Neither is judged here.
